Tristani donates remaining campaign funds to foundation
The granddaughter of the late U.S. Sen. Dennis Chavez is donating the leftover money from her own 2002 campaign for the Senate to the Dennis Chavez Foundation. Dennis Chavez was just 14 years old when he quit school to help support his family. He worked as a wagon driver delivering groceries.
